Grant GuidelinesDeschutes Cultural Coalition: 2008-09 Grant Application Guidelines The Deschutes Cultural Coalition is seeking applications for grant funding from all sectors within the culture field, including the arts, heritage, and the humanities. Grant funding is sponsored by the Oregon Cultural Trust and must support projects and activities that address one of the four priorities outlined within the Deschutes Cultural Plan: · Encourage greater awareness of local culture. · Ensure that cultural resources are accessible to all residents. · Utilize local cultural resources to promote economic vitality. · Help new and established cultural organizations increase their capacity to fulfill their mission Grant Awards Grant awards will range from $1,000 to $5,000 each. The most competitive applications will provide some matching resources, either in contributed goods and services or cash funding. Eligibility Applications will be accepted from Deschutes County based humanities, heritage and arts organizations. Applicants must be designated 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and must have been established for at least one year. Individuals are not eligible to apply. Prior grant awardees must have submitted all reports required by past Deschutes Cultural Coalition grant agreements. 2008 Application Timeline Application available: May 1, 2008 Application due: August 1, 2008 Funding decisions: Late August 2008 Funding distribution reception: September 2008 How to Apply A complete submittal will include a Deschutes Cultural Coalition grant application form (attached) with responses to the questions indicated. A copy of the organization’s current IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter will be required from all new applicants. Only one copy of the application packet is required. Grant applications are to be postmarked by or delivered to the Deschutes Cultural Coalition by 5:00 p.m. on August 1, 2008. Late applications will not be accepted or reviewed. Describe the proposed project of activity. Include anticipated timelines, location, target audience and participants, and a brief description of the group responsible for the project. 2. Explain how the proposed project or activity addresses the priorities of the Deschutes Cultural Coalition guidelines. 3. Outline the objectives of your proposed project or activity and describe how you will measure its success. 4. Outline the project budget. Detail the source of matching contributions, including cash funds and in-kind donations. If the grant will support an ongoing activity, explain how it will be funded in the future. 5. All new applicants, attach a copy of your organization’s IRS determination letter indicating 501(c)(3) status.
